10/10 – Absolutely Outstanding!
Our stay at 1868 Turtle Dunes was nothing short of exceptional. This incredible oceanfront penthouse offers breathtaking, unobstructed ocean views from the front and river views from the back—truly the best of both worlds. We were absolutely awestruck by both the sunrises and sunsets. The experience was made unforgettable by our host, Doris, who delivered a level of service that is incredibly rare. We originally booked at the Racquet Club, which—frankly—is a VERY tired building. In a moment of frustration, we called Amelia Best VRR, and Doris personally answered the phone. She was extremely sympathetic to our situation, even though it had nothing to do with her or her properties. Without hesitation, Doris offered to drop everything she was doing and meet us last minute at Turtle Dunes (Omni) to show us what she had available. That alone says everything about her commitment to her guests. We have stayed in many 5-star hotels, resorts, and luxury accommodations, and Doris’ penthouse stands right alongside them. The unit was outstanding—large bedrooms and bathrooms, modern coastal furnishings, and excellent common areas. The photos truly do not do this place justice. What impressed us most was that the penthouse was spotless and smelled fresh and clean during an unplanned showing—something that speaks volumes about the standards Doris and her team uphold. Throughout our stay, Doris and her team checked in regularly, provided fantastic restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, and made us feel genuinely cared for from start to finish. If you’re considering staying at Turtle Dunes—or anywhere Doris manages—do not hesitate! This was a luxury experience in every sense of the word, and we cannot wait to return. Summer Vacation
The condo unit 1869 Turtle Dunes was perfect for our family of 6. The unit was updated , clean and in good repair. The location was central to the beach and the pool which was key for our boys. The Amelia Prime Reality and Rental was very professional in managing our rental checking in and checking out. Can't say enough positive about our vacation ... It was perfect!

Beautiful Property
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving holiday at this property. The property manager was very accessible and helpful. The pool was not heated and there was no access to a fitness facility but we still found plenty to do in the area. We played tennis and the kids enjoyed bike rides. Would rent the property again:)

Girl's Trip
We enjoyed the condo and the beautiful views. A big disappoinment was the pool was closed during our entire visit due to an issue with the chemicals. I understand things happen. However, part of the reason we selected the condo was easy access to both the pool and beach. The pool was also larger than other units we considered. I asked for a concession on the price as the pool was an important part of our selection process. A price concession was not granted. Hence, the 3 star rating as we did not receive all that we paid for.

We rented this for a short girls' trip and really enjoyed the property. It is lovely and in a great location. The beach is beautiful and the pool is heated and peaceful. Laily is super helpful! Highly recommend. The only thing I would say is that you should rent a car because the tram is only for Omni guests and Ubers have a tricky time finding the property.

Beautiful Penthouse with Magnificent Views
This is a beautiful, well stocked condo with breathtaking views of the ocean and intercoastal nestled in a gated community. This is our families 2nd stay at this condo. We love the condo and the area. From the master bedroom you can watch the sunrise without ever leaving the bed. The beach is never crowded. You can always find a place to set up your tent and chairs. My 6 yo granddaughter loves the pool and she met a friend there which makes for relaxing days by the pool for the parents. Upon returning home, my granddaughter realized she had left her favorite stuffed animal that she sleeps with. I contacted Gazal and within a couple of days Everest was back in my granddaughters arms! Gazal was always quick to answer any questions we had during our stay. This place is a gem and so is Gazal!

Exactly as described in listing …. yet better!
We absolutely fell in love with everything here. The views are mesmerizing and the rental is spotlessly clean and well equipped. Each room is so perfectly and simply decorated that we literally just kept trying different rooms for different deck views. Sleeping in the master bedroom bedroom was a delight with the sound of the waves and the incredibly comfortable bed. Most impressive is communication with the host - we had just one minor glitch with the ice maker and Gazal kept in constant contact until it was fixed in less than 24 hours. We cannot wait to come back to Amelia Island and stay here again 🥰

Beautiful Spacious Villa with Breathtaking Views
My family had a wonderful time at this Turtle Dunes property. There were six adults and two children (5yo and 5 months old). We got to watch the sunrise every morning from the spacious balcony and watch the sunset from the marsh side. The villa was equipped with everything we needed from preparing meals, to washing our clothes, to a portable baby crib. The management was quick to respond when contacted. My 5yo granddaughter is already asking when we are going back. She can't wait and neither can I.

Great condo for 3 couples. Plenty of space to spread out. Beautiful views. Kitchens and baths need updating. The managers were great: very responsive to any issues. The only drawback for us was no outdoor grilling available on the property. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Vacation Spot
Stunning sunrises over the Atlantic and stunning sunsets over the Amelia River - what is not to like? This penthouse was the perfect spot for our month-long February stay. It is beautifully furnished and everything that we needed was available. The numerous activities available in the Omni complex and Amelia Island kept our entire family busy and entertained. Beautiful penthouse for family vacation

Beautiful Views!
This penthouse is beautiful, well furnished and very comfortable. The views of the beach cannot be beat. If there is anything negative and it was not a big deal to us but the double beds upstairs and on the main level made noise every time we rolled over. New mattresses would be wonderful but this did not sour our time there at all. My parents said the king bed in the master was comfortable.

The location on the ocean is top notch. Great views!
The views are amazing. The drive to the condo is also amazing, with tree-covered winding roads. Beautiful! The layout of the condo is also fantastic. You can see the ocean from pretty much every angle! The only thing I was surprised about (at this price range) was that this place isn’t completely updated. But since we spent the majority of our time either at the beach or drinking coffee on the balconies enjoying listening to the ocean, it was easy to overlook some of the things that were outdated. Communication with the owners is fantastic! They were very responsive when I notified them that the shower door was stuck shut (with me inside the shower of course lol!). They even stopped by the next day to check on things, but we missed her bc we were at the beach. There is shopping and grocery stores close enough to make frequent trips if you need things or realize you’ve forgotten something. Downtown shopping/restaurants are very cool and a convenient drive too. The location of this condo is great bc you feel secluded with amazing ocean views, but still have easy access to stores without feeling like your in a shopping district. There were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teens) and there was PLENTY of room. Each kid got their own room and bathroom, which they loved! Lots to do nearby - walking trails, bikes, and we kayaked on our last day. Very fun trip!! We made lots of great memories here.

Relaxation
This was our second stay in this condo and it was beautiful and clean! The view from the balconies were breathtaking! The owners were very accommodating due to the rebuilding of the beach. It was not only a fabulous vacation but also a learning experience. I was mesmerized by the art of restoring the beach 🏖. Hope to stay there again next Labor Day weekend , if not there in one one these owners other condos. These two ladies go above and beyond for their guests!!

Very good visit

Wonderful Experience
This was our very first VRBO! What a first! Everything about this experience was wonderful. From the onset, we were very pleased with the property manager. She quickly responded to all questions during our rental process. The condo had everything one could want and more. The beds were comfortable and furnishings clean, and charming. There are three separate bedrooms, well equipped, with bathrooms in each. Plenty of towels were provided. The living spaces were also charming and comfortable, with lovely furniture and well thought out placement of tables and chairs. We spent a lot of time on the main balcony deck enjoying the ocean view and sound. The deck furniture was plentiful, solid and quite comfortable to sit in for long intervals. The views were amazing. We will be back. It was simply wonderful.

Best View
My wife and I have been going to Amelia Island for 35 years and stayed in many condominiums, the Ritz and the Omni. This condominium is a gem. The quantity of sliding glass doors and balconies ensure an unparalleled penthouse view on the sunrise and sunset side of the island. The owners/managers are high service professionals and we will be staying with them again...hopefully sooner rather than later.

We had a very pleasant 3 day stay with family. The penthouse condo is very pretty and exactly as advertised. It is in a secluded quaint subdivision. The views of the ocean are spectacular. It’s about 10 miles from the downtown restaurants but worth the drive to be in this wonderful space. Will definitely stay here when we come back.

Great Amelia Escape
My family and I had a great time at this property in Amelia Island. The unit looks just like the pictures, and it is in a terrific location right on the beach. I would highly recommend it. As a “penthouse” unit, it has two floors, which is very nice to allow some to stay up late without disturbing the others. The view can't be beat.

Lovely stay at a wonderful condo!
The views from this condo are simply fantastic. The place was well-maintained and our family had a great stay. It is far enough from the Omni to not be loud/crowded, but close enough to take advantage of the amenities (the free tram service is exceptionally easy to use). Only suggestions for improvement: flexibility on check-in/out times, wish they had beach towels included. We also brought a small child and the balcony made me nervous (safe, but I am always fearful!). Overall a very, very nice stay and we would certainly come back. Gazal was an excellent host.

Amazing ocean front
This penthouse is located in the Turtle Dunes building, which faces the Atlantic Ocean and is 100 yards from the beach. We enjoyed the sun rises from the master bed room, or the living room, or the patio, all of which are facing the ocean. Amazing 180 degrees views of the Atlantic Ocean. The suite is well appointed. Million dollar views and easy access to pool and beach.
The property is lush, gorgeous and has incredible walking/running trails. The condo has large living and dining spaces and the kitchen is stocked with cooking necessities. The views and balconies are amazing! The kitchen and bathrooms do need updating; mattresses are fair. Overall we enjoyed this condo and will come again.

Fabulous villa
This is a gorgeous villa with breathtaking views. Our family visited for a few days and really enjoyed it. The whole Omni Plantation area is fun to explore walking or on bikes and the beach is great. The condo is gorgeous and well-stocked. The view is spectacular, and the balcony is great for groups. I would say that it only comfortably sleeps 6 adults. Children are better for sharing the double beds.

Beach Heaven
My family came to Amelia Island for a long weekend vacation. This condo was perfect. Lots of open living space, fantastic view of the beach and wonderful pool in the complex next to the beach. Very nice furnishings, well equipped kitchen and a master bedroom that makes you feel you are floating over the ocean! We were here in April and there were very few people around. Getting to the historic town of Fernandina Beach a short drive away. Highly recommend.

Everything was exactly as shown
We spent six weeks in this beautiful condo enjoying the views, it definitely was our home away from home. The appliances were up to-date, the kitchen was well supplied with dishes and cutlery, you could watch the large screen T.V. in the family room and still see the beach, the front patio had lots of comfortable furniture to watch the surf rise and fall, absolutely perfect. The on site restaurants are easy to get to and there are lots of choices on highway 1A1 which is main road into the Omni Plantation Resort. Aside from the beach, you can golf, play tennis, ride bikes, take a walk on the trails, or take a 10 minute drive to the downtown area were they offer boat tours, trolley tours and many other attractions to keep you occupied. Gazel's response to any inquiry was immediate, e.g. which channel can we watch the Olympics on, (with more than a thousand channels it takes a while to surf thru all the choices), she is very dedicated to making sure you enjoy your stay at this unit.. Very clean, very well appointed, lovely bedding, feather pillows, gorgeous views, great pool
We stayed at this condo over New Years 2017-2018, the worst cold weather to hit FL in decades. Having the wood burning fireplace was wonderful, but bring your own firewood, since there is none provided. The only negative was that the TV was not mounted next to the fireplace, but rather in a glass corner of a room off the kitchen. This meant we had to sit in the colder area of the house to watch TV, and could not do so by the fireplace.

Condo was very well furnished and stocked, and the beds were super comfortable. Great location with access to beach and pool. We rented a golf cart to get around the plantation more easily with my parents. Booking was easy and convenient. We would definitely stay there again.

It was a great layout for our family (myself and my husband, our 3 kids under 5, and my inlaws), with two bedrooms and baths up and one bedroom and bath downstairs. For families with kids, the downside is that each room has sliding doors that are easy to unlock, and there is no babyproofing. But, the condo was beautiful, clean, had a great view, lovely pool, easy beach access, close to the Omni hotel if you are interested in additional activities, etc. Booking was easy and any issues (very few) were attended to quickly by the owners.

Beautiful views from every room
We had a great week at this condo. We have stayed in many others and this was the best. The views are outstanding from every room, allowing you to see the ocean and the intercoastal waterway from most of the first floor. The condo is spacious and the ceilings higher than most other condos. All of the furnishings are newer and comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms are not very much updated from the original construction but are completely functional (there are newer appliances in the kitchen). Really you don't even notice because you are too busy looking outside. I highly recommend a visit to Amelia and this condo in particular.

Nice comfortable unit
Very nice unit. Spectacular views Only complaint would be the baths need updating. One bath and tile loose in the floor and would cut your foot when walking. Owners were very nice and helpful. We would stay in this units again.

Wedding weekend
Wonderful condo for my family to stay! Perfect for bride & bridesmaid hair & makeup sessions prior to the wedding. Ample space for brunch catered in for all with wedding preparations occurring. Great for wedding photography! Tasteful furnishings & fantastic views of marsh, ocean & pool, with ceiling to floor windows & spacious balconies. Easy access to beach & pool. Wedding was beautiful, & accommodations wonderful!

Wonderful month
We have spent four weeks at this phenomenal condo! Lailey was wonderful to us. There was an issue with the air conditioning and she had it fixed by the end of the day. The condo is so roomy, the furnishings are elegant and comfortable, and you can see the ocean from the many windows throughout the home. What a treat this month has been for us!

Best Penthouse in Amelia
Our family just returned from 8 wonderful days in Amelia Island. We have visited Amelia many times in the past and usually stayed at Turtle Dunes. This time we needed something slightly larger. I found Laily Schlegel online by chance. All I can say is how lucky I am to have connected with her. She told me she had a place to fit our needs but at the time I booked it wasn't remodeled yet. She assured me the property would be beautiful and comfortable, so I took a chance. First of all, Mrs. Schlegel did a fantastic job keeping me posted on the progress of the property and anytime I had a question she was quick to respond. She is professional, lovely to speak with and very accommodating. When the penthouse was done she sent me photos and just as she promised it looked beautiful. When we arrived we were all blown away because the home exceeded our expectations. This penthouse is very well appointed. The furnishings are upper end brands, the beds are very comfortable, the decor is beautiful, and because it is an end unit the views from all rooms cannot be matched. My husband and I woke up every morning to see nothing but beautiful blue ocean and a peaceful white beach. The bathrooms are large in every bedroom and there is ample close space. Top of the line LG washer and dryer, and a well appointed kitchen. Our family loved our stay and we plan to visit again in the future. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a beautiful, spacious vacation home. You will not be disappointed! If for some reason this property does not fit your needs, I would still highly recommend connecting with Laily Schlegel. What a pleasure she is to work with and I'm sure she can connect you with the right property!
