Pet-Friendly Parks, Beaches & Trails


Amelia Island Beaches: 

Dogs are permitted on Amelia Island's beaches but must remain on a leash at all times. Please be diligent about cleaning up after your pet to avoid fines and keep the beaches clean. Parking at public beach accesses is free.

Nassau Humane Society Dog Park: 

The only dedicated off-leash dog park on the island, offering separate areas for small and large dogs, a bone-shaped pool, shade, and bathing stations. Membership is required (daily, weekly, monthly, annual options available), and proof of vaccinations and spay/neuter is mandatory. Closed Mondays & Wed afternoons. Fort Clinch State Park: 

Leashed pets are welcome in most outdoor areas of the park, including the extensive trail system (6-mile multi-use trail and shorter hiking trails). Pets are generally not permitted in buildings (including the fort) or designated swimming areas. Park entrance fee applies.

Egan's Creek Greenway:

This beautiful nature preserve offers miles of unpaved trails perfect for walking with your leashed dog. Enjoy observing wildlife, but be mindful of the natural environment. Access from various points including Atlantic Recreation Center.

Amelia Island Trail:

This paved multi-use trail running along parts of A1A is generally suitable for walks with leashed dogs. Be mindful of cyclists and walkers.
